I cant catch any fish?

I can't catch any bass. I've tried senkos, spinner baits, flukes, rubber worms, tubes, and buzz baits. I've watched countless hours on how to rig and work each lure. I have a nice variety of shapes and colors and no combinations seem to work. I fish on two main lakes, one lake is a bigger and a more popular lake and the other one is smaller and more secluded. I've fished all round both lakes and have only caught two small naive largemouths. I also try to make sure that I fish them in the evening and I fish until it gets dark. So I put in about 3.5 hours each trip. I don't make alot of noise when I fish, I don't smoke, and I don't wear outrageous colors. What am I doing wrong?

have you tried scent? my way to catching fish is sight, scent and sound. i use bright colors, with some red as if its an injured fish, some smelly fishy scents, and a popper lure. the popper is a great tool. but try a scent of blood or maybe an actual night crawler hooked into one of the trebble hooks of the popper. when using scents for catfish i throw my bait in one spot, even if i caught a catfish or a cat took off with the bait/hooks. i fish the same spot. scent lingers in the water, so remember that. fish near the same place if your using scent. as for sound. poppers are about 5 bucks but you can make some yourself, all you need is a wine cork(very long) some hooks, paint and a knife.

fish around ''snags''. lily pads, trees and so forth. maybe you need to invest in a small canoe and a fish finder. canoe's are great for finding a spot to fish away from other people, or getting to a point that is otherwise unavailable to bank fishermen. giving you an edge.

fishing takes time and penitence. try camping. be there all night. wake up and fish until its time to sleep again! this will give you time and i know you'll catch a fish. if you don't catch a single fish in say 24 hours then somethings wrong with the lake!

Well next time you go, look around and see if anyone else is catching fish. If they are then your doing something wrong....if they aren't then you should probably find a new lake. Mainly, You need to KEEP going out even if your not catching because you will learn the fish and learn the lake and figure out how to fish it. The more experience you get the better fisherman you will become. You will start to meet other fisherman and get tips from them and just keep it up kid. When you go to the lake and you pass other fisherman ask if they had any luck and then if they did ask what they are using. Some people are nice and show you and then some will hide there techniques. Overall just have fun because fishing isn't always about catching the fish.

  • I usually use anchovies for bass. Bounce the bait up and down every little bit so it looks like it's swimming.

Ask the other people fishing if they've caught any and what they're using. It could just be the lake, or maybe they have some advice that will really help.

    stop timing yourself. relax.

maybe your lake just doesn't have the numbers.

net some live shad and pin one on a size 8 octopus style hook on 6lb line, no weight or float. just let it swim natural, having hooked it very lightly behind the dorsal. actually, if you wish, go ahead and use a small clear float, placed about 2 1/2 feet above the hook.

stay later. fish after dark. find a long point extending out toward deeper water, deep water close at hand.

texas rig an 8 or 10 inch black worm on a 4/0 or 5/0 EWG hook on 10 or 12lb line, a 3/16 or 1/4oz worm weight. get it out there as far as you can and reel it in just as slowly as you possibly can, frequent pauses and starts. use a rod with plenty of backbone. a BC outfit is best for plastics while spinning gear will handle the shad.

Depends on your lake conditions. What kind of structure? What water temperature? Where at? What weather/water conditions? Some areas they are spawning right now, some are post-spawn, some are pre-spawn. Each condition has different situations. Spawning and post-spawn they are lockjaw, meaning you really have to work to hook one. I have had a tough time adjusting from trout to bass fishing, but it just takes time to learn the fish in your lake. Fish that are highly pressured are also more difficult to catch.

I would suggest asking local fisherman im a teenager who just really got turned on to fishing and i go with my grandpa and his buddies and some of my buddies and there dads and they all seem to have some secret for that area or some trick that always works fro them. Check local bait shops sporting goods stores with large fishing sections and anyone else you know that

My friend if your not trying to only use lures i would suggest live bait! It usually works best. shad, alwives, chubs, shiners etc... but if your bent on catching fish on lures try to find out what types of baitfish live in your lakes and try to find a similar lure to mimic them. Fish behave differently in different bodies of water depending on what they're feeding on. Do some research ask local baitshops or get on your states dept of game and fisheries websit to find out what baitfish live in your lakes.

Bass tell you what they want and how they want it. Look back at your last teo bass that you caught, what lure did you use and how did you work it? When did they bite it?
