Do you think that it is appropriate for people over 40 yrs?

Old to have Facebook pages. I don't like it unless it is for business. Or to keep in touch with long distant family.

Why does everybody seem to think facebook is the only way to stay connected with friends? How do you think people were able to maintain relationships before facebook was created then?

Oh yea, because its so difficult to get peoples phone numbers and just call them any more or go visit them (I can understand if this is not possible due to some people moving/living far away from each other though).

What about email? If you have (a) pic(s) you wanna show off then just send them through email to the people you want to see the pic(s).

Makes me wonder what the world would do if the internet just completely shut down one day. What would people do then without the internet?

I'm seventeen and I think it's 100% appropriate for people over forty to have a Facebook page. Yes, the main target for users are young adults but I think as long as they are using the site for good reasons and not pedophilic reasons then it's fine. Older people have the right to communicate and rekindle with their friends too. My grandmother even has a Facebook and I think that's fine too. Age doesn't matter unless they are young.

The nice thing about being over 40 (and I'm way over 40) is that I don't have to give a flying feather what someone thinks is "appropriate."

If I might preserve the advantage i have now ... Certain, i'd return. If I simplest knew then what i know now! Simply feel of the probabilities! LOL (is not this the plot to many a film I've seen?)

I agree. At 40, everyone should simply sever all connections they have with friends and abstain from technology. It's the only rational thing to do.

So if we're over 40 we can't keep in contact with our friends? Our lives are different, marriage, kids, work etc is the main focus in our lives with very little free time. I love that I've been able to reconnect with my old friends

I don't think anyone over 20 should have a facebook page.

It cause so much troubles for people its ridiculous to even have one.

Email is just fine for anyone, you can give and send emails to your friends and relations with pictures attached.. and good grief who wants to connect with people you used to know they are in your past for a reason!
