Sad song I can use for a Public Service Announcement about Animal Abuse?
I have to do a public service announcement in English and I chose animal abuse, as it is a subject very close to my heart. I don't want to do Mad World or any Sarah McLachlen songs because those are already used enough.. any suggestions?

I am not exactly sure if this will answer your question, but this song serves as a public service announcement to me. Linkin Park- Hands Held High The song is about people constantly being oppressed and suffering from the constant battles that they are forced to experience. Its basically a song about a boy telling a story about what he experience in his everyday life and how nothing is changing. The rich gets richer and poor is force to suffer more each day. Basically a song to promote awareness about the issue that they are often to blind to see. Linkin Park- Bleed It Out Linkin Park- No More Sorrow *Which I guess are similiar to the one above* Linkin Park- The Little Things Give You Away This song is my all time favorite. It was focused on the accident that happened in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina. When thousands of people were lost to as though they never existed. It explains how people warned about the tragedy, but nothing was done about it until after when it was already to late. Greenday- Wake Me Up When September Ends This is similiar but deals with broader topics. Like the 9/11 incident, Hurricane Katrina, and all the bad things that seem to be happening in September. Overall a deep song. And there are many more that I can probably think of, but I will leave to you to decide if you want to hear more of them. Thanks for the question. Really made me think.

First, I just want to say that it's awesome that you picked this topic. It doesn't get nearly enough attention or reaction nowadays.
Second, I did my best to scrounge up some songs that may work of various speeds and genre. Some of them probably aren't what you had in mind, but I think each of them has a section that can relate to your topic.
Hope they help either way, and best of luck with your project!
Missing - Evanescence
[Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't cry for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone..
Isn't something missing?]
Save Me - Hanna Pakarinen
[I stare at the wall, feel cold and bare
I've gotta get out of here
Won't you save my life tonight?
Just stay with me and I'll be okay
Won't you just hold on to me?
Please excuse the state I'm in
And hear my voice, hold on to me
Won't you save my life tonight?]
Carry You Home - James Blunt
[As strong as you were, tender you go
I'm watching you breathing for the last time
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet
I know what it means and I'll carry you home.]
Simon - Lifehouse
[Catch your breath, hit the wall
Scream out loud as you start to crawl
Back into your cage, the only place
Where they will leave you alone.]
Concrete Angel - Martina McBride
[Someone cries in the middle of the night
The neighbours hear, but they turn out the light
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes, it will be too late.]
Run - Snow Patrol
[Light up, light up, as if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice, I'll be right beside you dear.]
The Day That Never Comes - Metallica
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE_0phcztXM - I personally find a cover like this sounds "sadder" than the original, but the meaning is the same either way.
[Born to push you around. Better just stay down
You pull away, he hits the flesh, you hit the ground.]
Dear Agony - Breaking Benjamin
[Just let go of me. Suffer slowly
Is this how it's gotta be?
Don't bury me, faceless enemy
I'm so sorry
Is this how it's gotta be?
Dear Agony...]
Cut - Plumb
[Not a stranger. No, I am yours
Of crippled anger, and tears that still drip sore
A fragile frame aged with misery
And when our eyes meet, I know you see.[
Damaged - Plumb
[Healing comes so painfully. And it chills to the bone.
Will anyone get close to me? I'm damaged, as I'm sure you know.]
Losing Your Memory - Ryan Star
[The damage is done, the police are coming too slow now
I would have died, I would have loved you all my life.]
Far From Home - Five Finger Death Punch
[All the places I've been and things I've seen
A million stories that made up a million shattered dreams
The faces of people I'll never see again
And I can't seem to find my way home
Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything to break me down]
Breakable - Fisher
[And everytime you throw him to the floor
Why are you surprised to see
He's breakable?]
Hello - Evanescence
[Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to
Hello..?]
Winter Sun - Dishwalla
[See them hold you down
Never felt them push me back to the wall
And still I hear you cry, terrified, for the first time
First time
Will the winter sun keep us warm in these cold times?
Will the winter sunlight keep you warm
Untorn, untorn and alive?]
Wires - Athlete
[You've got wires going in
You've got wires coming out of your skin
There's dried blood on your wrist. Your dried blood on my fingertips.]
Do You Care? - Bela
[I can't see you cry.
Be strong, one more try.
There just is no way
Nothing left to save
You're soaked in hate, you have one day, what will you say?
It's our last chance to take a stand
Do you care? Do you care?]
Give Me A Sign - Breaking Benjamin
[Daylight dies, black out the skies
Does anyone care? Is anybody there?
Take this life, empty inside
I'm already dead. I'll rise to fall again.]
Broken - Seether (Feat Amy Lee)
[The worst is over now
And we can breath again
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away]
