If you Live in Tornado Alley and your not covered should the Federal Gov. Bail you out?

STOP paying for other people's mistakes!!!!!!

And no I'm not talking about the FEMA where they are pulling people out of the rubble part. I'm talking about the REBUILDING part.

Where my Tax dollars are paying for your new house!!!!

This is what insurance is for......

If you ain't covered and prepared then your S.O.L.

Don't beg the GOV like a weak Liberal......

96% of homeowners have insurance. It's usually required as part of a mortgage. Typical insurance covers tornadoes. With home values having dropped in the past few years, many homeowners have lowered their insurance coverage as well. Meanwhile construction costs have climbed. This (unfortunately) is especially true in cases of a major disaster.

This means that the average person will only have about 80% of what they need to rebuild. Sometimes there is a dispute over what is actually covered. For example, when looking at a home after a tornado, plumbing damage or heavy rain may cause flooding damage that isn't protected. In addition, in the case of a disaster, alternate housing may be required while rebuilding. When an entire community is effected, there are additional issues with food, housing, and simply the ability to get the required permits and equipment and supplies to rebuild. This all takes time. Businesses are also effected, so many people are unemployed.

Federal Government programs are designed to fill in these gaps and provide short term assistance with food, shelter, clothing, and other needs. Assistance with gaps in insurance coverage cap at $30,000. The actual average amount runs much less than that.

Disaster unemployment benefits are available (80% of wages) provided the individual has paid taxes on their income.

When rebuilding an entire community, the goal is to make the community stronger, and better built overall. They use the opportunity to build a better infrastructure, and be able to withstand future disasters better. Sometimes the Army Core of Engineers will recommend NOT rebuilding in a particular area if it has suffered a large amount of damage and is at risk for suffering that type of damage again. A number of factors are used in determining whether or not rebuilding is financially suitable. In the case of a major city, How it would effect the economy of the city, the region, and even the country as a whole is considered. In the case of "tornado alley" the "alley" covers wide areas, several states that are valuable to industry and agriculture. Industry and agriculture of that size will attract, and necessitate some areas of higher population.

If the government refuses to allow a private property to rebuild and takes over the land, then they are required to compensate the property owner appropriately. The amount is based on before the disaster. This may be another cost consideration in the decision to allow a community to rebuild in a particular area.

Other assistance comes in the form of low interest loans, such as through the Small Business Association.

Liberals know as much as a box of rocks..

The Liberal ideology is a theory , fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and which holds forth beliefs that have no basis in reality.

They are Advocates of a policy that empowers a strong federal government to enslave its people with a high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working class.

"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

Liberals like to spend other peoples money!!

The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

So you don't believe in recovery efforts. Interesting outlook on life. I assume you think the only responsibility of doctors is to stop the bleeding too.

There's plenty of charities the government could promote since they pay millions just to air ads but suck at being humanitarians.
