Phineas??
What kind of boy/man do you picture?

I picture a Disney cartoon character with a big, triangle head. LOL, jk! I have never really heard of that name in real life. But I have somewhat influenced by the Disney cartoon "Phineas and Ferb" so, I would imagine I would not picture a person with this name as serious if I didn't know him in person.
And, "Fin" definitely looks best. The nickname "Fin" gives me an image of a clever, intelligent boy.
Best regards.

Phineas is a really nice name. I've always associated it with the boy in the book, "A Separate Peace." He went by "Finny." In the book the boy is athletic and charismatic, but not at all conceited. He is devoted and loyal. Both the book and the name go back much further than that silly cartoon character, so don't get weighed down by it. It's a lovely name. As far as a nickname, I'd just go with "Fin." Simple and easy.

Don't prefer whatever 'specified'. Just prefer whatever rather distinctive -- this fashion he won't be one in every of three boys with the equal title in his classes, but his title will nonetheless be comfortably understood and conveniently pronounced; he will not ought to spend a lifetime repeating his title and spelling it for persons. Do not underestimate the benefits of having a name other men and women can understand. Some strategies: Rhys Carlton Warren Carlton Emmett Carlton Dale Carlton Marcus Carlton Neil Carlton

The sound is nice, I think I'd like it if it was spelled Finnias/Finneas, but Phineas looks ugly to me...it reminds me too much of Penis I think.
(Not recommending misspelling a name! I just wish the correct spelling started with F.)
