Which phone has offline GPS function?

right now I am using Nokia E-52, in which Ovi Maps shows you the route and your position even when there is no network connection or phone is in offline mode, means it does not work on network it directly connects to GPS satellite, but many other smart phones I checked they dont have inbuilt mapes, you need to install Google maps, which will only work when your internet pack is active on your phone, and so that only when you have network, it will not work where there is network problem, like somewhere in a jungle or a mountain area,

I am thinking to buy new smart phone in android, so please suggest me if there is any phone or application which has the function of GPS to work offline or in a area where there is no network..

Thanks for your answers...

I just love people that try to answer the questions they don't have the answer too and yet they try!!! Just makes me wanna slap YOU in the face.

The reason you don't know the answer to the above question is because you have never owned a Nokia Phone, because if you did you would know that every Nokia phone comes with preloaded maps on it that do not require the use of network at all. I travel all over the world North America, europe and Asia and my dinki Nokia 5230 GPS works just fine while saving me tons of money by not using data plan. I go hiking, no cell connection but GPS and all it's functions work perfectly. As far as I know Nokia even as of today is the only phone manufacturer that has this feature, that is why I use them. But of cource now that Microsoft bought them out they turned a beautiful piece of hardware in to cluttered and glitch piece of garbage. Very disappointing.

So to answer the question above, if you're going away from Nokia, well then tough luck with offline GPS. There are few you can purchase but they are pricey, don't work well and require creation of some sort of accounts in order to save/retrieve you favorites and stuff. I purchased one of those things for Android and ended up returning it as it did not work nearly as well as my old cheap Nokia phone GPS.

on all mobile phones you have to pay to use the gps - period! you can download maps on some of them, but you are still charged a data fee.

to truly get free gps functions i would go with tomtom, garmin, newelectronx sat nav, or magellan.
