Are there any good free reminder programs that work with Windows 8?

On my old computer, I had something called Nth Clock. I could set reminders for any length of time. They would pop up at the right time and remind me to do something.

When I switched to Windows 8, that lovely little program went bye-bye. It just plain won't work. The designer quit updating it when Vista came out. I've been on XP all these years, where it works just fine, so it made no difference to me.

Are there any good reminder programs like that? I really relied on it a whole lot. My spontaneous recall just isn't any good anymore.

    VueMinder Lite is free and works on Windows 8. It's the best reminder program I've ever found, and I've tried many. It can be downloaded here:

    Avast for home why? Has a better Anti virus database to catch most even better than some that you actually pay for It has a good update system every so many hours NOT DAYS LIKE MOST You have better control of your settings that way you control how many services your anti virus should run Has a good Boot mode scanner (for more control on what to do with viruses)
