is the eurovision song contest broadcasted live or pre-recorded?

i know that the backing tracks are pre-recorded and the vocals are performed "live" but id like to know if the performances are done at the same time as we see it on tv or the day before or some hours beforehand?i just wonder how they manage to change the sets in such a short time between songs.thanks!

There is just a small delay. This is for things like bad language or inappropriate behaviour. It just gives the BBC a bit of time to save things if they start going wrong. We are talking a minute or two though. Nothing big.

The sets get changed so quickly because of a huge team of people making it happen. Just the same as it works in the theatre. Curtain drops, 5 seconds later it is up again and the set is different. Skilfully done.

Yes the performances are taking place as you are watching; maybe a little delay but only by 2-3 seconds as the images are passed onto the broadcasters. You'll notice that the stage set up isn't that vast and in the time the introduction video is played, a production team will move on and remove the props while another production team sets up the new props.

Its broadcasted live yes. Some elements are pre-recorded such as the video between acts and there is a slight delay but generally I would say it is broadcasted live.
