whats so wrong with sleeping on the couch?
So basically I have been sleeping on the couch for the past 2 weeks straight and my parents keep badgering me about going back into my room and sleeping in my bed. FRANKLY I DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM. I've told them over and over that I just like the couch better but they continue to insist that it's not normal that I sleep on the couch if I have a room with a bed in it. Is it bad for my health/back to sleep on a bed? Any thoughts? should I stop sleeping on the couch?

It is probably because they don't like having to tip toe around quietly to keep from waking you up if they wake up before you do...if the couch is just more comfortable or you just seem to sleep better there, tell them that, then ask if you can just move the couch into your bedroom. :-)

These are the few reasons why I would not sleep on the couch on a regular basis:
1. The cushioning on the couch is not made for the spine or the back and even though you don’t feel the back pain now, if you sleep on the couch daily you will.
2. The arms of a couch as the name suggests are for our arms and not our neck. Keeping the neck so highly elevated will cause neck pain in the future.
3. While we sleep our hair rubs against what we lay on and when you are on a couch the friction caused due to the couches textile causes your hair to break. You also get split ends this way. (The best textile to sleep on for your hair is Satin)

unless you are putting sheets on the couch, you will damage the upholstery over time with hair and body oils.
That's why we use sheets and pillowcases on our beds, and why we wash them, to get rid of body oils.
The couch will seriously start to smell if you don't cover it before sleeping on it, and that's probably why
they don't like you on it every night. Plus, do you leave the blankets laying around? Parents like a clean living room that doesn't look like it's been turned into a bedroom. :)
