What Major For 3D Animator?

Ok so I have this college in NYC that I really like it's called Parsons The New School For Design. I want to become an animator. The type of animator that creates a characters on the computer for game or movies like Final Fantasy, Call Of Duty & Pixar movies . Unfortunately I don't know what type of major to apply for . In Parsons they have Fine/Studio Arts, General

Graphic Design

Illustration

And others that Im sure is not related to what I'm talking about .

Which major is right for what I want to become?

If you don't know about Parsons college from what I know it's very good. If there's any other colleges in NYC for what I'm saying please let me know? & what kind of practice will I need to become successful at animation , I've always loved it and I'm planning to move to Cali after college any tips? Sorry for all the questions I just need some help that's all. (: thx
