Is there a use for a freezer in cold places?
Would you need a freezer in a place where the temperature is way below freezing, like -30 to -60 degrees Celsius? Could you use it to protect food from bacteria? Some bacteria have endospores, which allow them to survive freezing. If some fell onto food, it could thaw later.

If you can ensure the temperature stays that cold, likely not.
But it will take energy to thaw food for preparation. It is easier to keep that a lot closer to the freezing point in a food freezer kept in a conditioned space, so thawing is easier.

Freezer is not needed in this location. An ordinary cold room is good enough. Freezer temperature has about -5C to -10C

if you don't seal up food packages tightly, they will get "freezer burn" long before they get bacteria. so sealed packages don't need the freezer box for protection.
