Canada EI CPP for paying friend to help?
A friend helps in my mom's business office. She has the same small business herself and knows how to run it. Should EI and CPP be deducted and paid to the government if my mom pays her for running the business for her??

Generally, if the other woman is an employee of your mother, it is your mother's job to do this.
If the other woman is seen as a private contractor performing a service, then it would be the other woman's responsibility.

Your mom has two options - she can deduct the EI and CPP from her friend's pay cheque and send it to the government (most common if she's a regular employee), or she can not do so and her friend will be responsible for doing this herself when she files her taxes.
