I have an 89 Chevy Blazer. I repaced the battery last month as the one I had was 4 yrs old.?

The alternator was replaced last April. On Sat I went all over town and it ran fine. Went home than up to Wal-Mart, when I came out it wouldn't start. A few min later it did and I got home but now won't start at all, I have no lights, radio etc. I was thinking a bad starter perhaps?

Update:

Thanks A+ I'm calling my mehanic tomorrow, but was curious what could be wrong. The belts look fine to me and my brother said the battery terminals were fine, but......you never know.

Update 2:

Thanks Bandit. It doesn't do anything when I turn the key. :-( I noticed the battery is loose in the place where it sits, but had it towed to my mechnic this morning, so hopefuly its nothing serious.

Could be lose fan belt, poorly tightened battery cables, dirty connections.Check charge voltage when you get it running 13,5+volts running.

I'm guessing that the problem may stem from a bad ground to the battery. Not the ground on the battery itself, but rather the strap that grounds to the vehicle fender area. Rust gets started in this area and can cause starting problems and the problem you described with no lights, radio, etc. If the belts are adjusted properly and the alternator is charging the battery properly, unless you have a defective battery, I'd have the mechanic check for a good ground on the battery strap to the vehicle.

yes it very well could be the starter because the starter has something to do with the charging system too because the hot cable runs to it ! it also could be the battery cable ends ! are the ends on the battery cables clean and tight ? alternator can,t keep the battery charged if they are corroded or loose ! if it goes click, click, click when your trying to start it then it could be the solenoid ! i have a blazer too but mine is a 95 !

No it's Karma actually. You have bad Karma for buying slave labor goods at wallmart.
