Can someone help me with driving?

I feel like carrying around a big map might not help me. I would like to just start up my car and go. But no I get lost very often im not sure why this happens do I need to read maps more although I never see anyone reading maps they just start up and go they just know where there going. Should I go on an adventure and just get lost and try to find my way back. I have problems with going to more than one place like the mall and then going across town to the zoo. If anyone has any tips it would be appreciated.

    Buy a GPS.

    I used to just get on a road and see where it went. I made sure

    I kept track of places I had went past in case I got too turned

    around but it never happened. I drove 27 miles on a major route

    in my state and discovered all sorts of shops as well as a state

    park. I got directions from family/friends on places to go and

    noted to myself other places on the way there.
