Are all worms segmented?

The reason that I ask is because I bought a jar of jalapeno slices and found objects floating in the juice and hidden within the seeds of the slices that are about 1mm in diameter and approximately 5 mm in length. I thought they may be worms but under a magnifying glass they appear to have a smooth texture and definitely no sign of being segmented.

Update:

I want to thank everyone that replied. My question did get answered but it didn't help me to identify the objects found in the jar. I learned a few things but it is too tough for me to call which is the best answer, so I will put it up for a vote.

Once again, thank you for your replies.

No, not all worms are segmented. Platyhelminthes (flatworms) and nematodes (round worms) are not segmented like annelids. They also do not have projecting limbs or bristles.

In the pepper fruit you may find the caterpillar of the fruitworm moth or some other species known to feed on plants in the Solanaceae family, but the caterpillars have feet.

I do understand that worms are not able to perpetually be detected in a cat's poop. It has to do w/the cyle of the worms. So although the experiment was once poor, the kitten might still have worms. As a consequence, it was once excellent to present him the deworming pill. I inspiration then they commonly pooped the worms out, however i assume if he's vomiting them at least he is getting them out of his process. Additionally, frequently one dewormer cure just isn't adequate to kill the entire worms if there are rather a lot. So your kitty may need one other healing, but investigate w/your vet and notice if and the way quickly you must do this.

The annelids are called segmented worms because of the elongated bodies, divided in multiple segments. Primitive species consist mainly of identical segments while others have a set of more specialized segments. The segmented worms come in a huge variety of shapes and colors. Many of the worms live their lives buried in the sand while others stand up like flowers. Some are microscopic in size, others can reach a length of 3 metres.

No. "Worm" is not a biologically meaningful classification, but there are legless long vermiform animals that aren't segmented. For instance, nematodes, nematomorphs and some flatworms aren't segmented.

Those might be caterpillars. As far as I know, all worms are segmented. Good luck!
