How do I transfer money from a credit union to a bank out of state?
I am going to be going from California to living in Central Michigan for a while. I want to know how I can transfer some money I have from my Credit Union to a bank in Michigan.

So far as I know you can only do that if you have a current account in Michigan. Research credit unions there and find out if you can open an account online. Then it will be a simple matter of making the transfer. I have an account in the town where I lived 12 years ago ... I just really like that C.U., and I transfer funds easily online.

Write a check on your California account, and deposit it in your Michigan account; would be easiest.
wire transfer
bank to bank transfer
if only C U savings account, request C CU mail you a withdrawal check, put in MI bank
Use your credit card, and pay that bill online using C CU funds

Don't ever put your money in a bank. Choose another credit union in MI. I think there's a way to Western Union yourself money
