I think you might mean echinacea...
It's a herb you can get in the vitamin section of your local drug store. It is recommended by some drs, but is over the counter... I think it is considered a "homeopathic medicine" because it is a herb, but I'm not entirely sure. It is usually used to fight infections like, the common cold/head colds/respiratory problems....
It is usually recommended that you take echinacea AS SOOON as you start to feel cold symptoms, such as a raspy cough or a lot of sneezing. Its safe when people use it short term, so don't worry about side effects, but its recommended if the person who is taking it breastfeeds, not to until they have stopped taking it.
Echinacea is usually taken po 2T tid, (by mouth, 2 tabs, 3 times daily,) usually around 7mg.
