Like all strings, they are designed to be tuned to a certain pitch, and tuning them higher is risky. I don't think anyone has conducted comparative string destruction tests on them, though.
Why do you want to know? If you wanted to tune an autoharp way high for some reason, the thing to do would probably be to use lighter gauge strings to maintain the same tension at the same length as the old strings.
