Can't give you an answer to that question Mate, can't think of when it happened last, but it did remind me of 1980, when our Captain, Bruce Monteath was an interchange player in the GF, he didn't come on till the last quarter just to give him a run, he was injured but the players lobbied for him to be included in the side, something that wouldn't happen in pink fit nowadays, interchange rules were only a year or two old, but it wasn't used like it is today, Monteath came on for the last minutes of the game and got to hold the cup aloft, a bit similar to Maxwell in 2010, he only played the last Q if memory serves me correct.

Good question Enforcer. i have a hunch that with multiple captains at some clubs now. that a captain might get rested from a game but we wouldn't even realise it.

@ captains that i know of from days gone bye John Nicholls & Des Tuddenham. both did stints on the side line when they were captains of their teams in the early 70s due to suspension.

    Cheers.
