In NASCAR, why can't they adjust the trackbar inside the car?

Is there a reason they can't adjust the track bar from inside the car? This would be much easier for the driver to adjust it on the fly, unless there is a rule against this.

it would be possible to do that but you would need excessive linkage that would be prone to damage in a crash, and may also cause safety issues. It's better to keep it simple and leave the adjustments up to the pit crew. Less moving parts means less mechanical failures, and they don't need the extra clutter inside the cockpit/cabin of the race car.
