We have a 1932 Gibson acoustic f-hole guitar. Approx Value Please?

My Uncle bot this new in 1932, and is in mint condition now. Plays and sounds great.

Fingerboard is straight and so easy to play too.

Back & sides look like rosewood. Any ideas for value please? Thanks

If it's a genuine 1932 Gibson archtop, it may be worth a few thousand. I'd need to know the model and serial number to look up the blue book value range. They should be on or in the guitar somewhere - or you could upload pix to a photo sharing site and link to them here, and we could probably ID it to model.

For a more exact evaluation, Gruhn Guitars will do an appraisal from photos for $50 - check their website.

(I would certainly not get 3 appraisals unless the guitar was a lot rarer than the average Gibson archtop, and most insurance companies won't know what you're talking about.)

P.S. Glad to hear your uncle is in mint condition. I wish I was!
