8 month old all of a sudden constipated?
My daughter has been eating two little jars of baby food a day now sometimes only 1. And all of a sudden her poops have become pretty solid and she used to poop every other day now it's like every 3-4 days or until I give her a little prune juice. I've stopped giving her some baby food to see if that's it but she still hasn't pooped. Is it her formula maybe? Do babies out grow their formula? She's on similac sensitive because when she was little we tried every single formula and everyone had a weird effect on her and made her sick until we tried that one. I was wondering if maybe now she's ready to just have the normal blue similac advance one. Anyone ever experience all of a sudden constipation like this? Thank you!!!

Give her a little straight water, half of an ounce. That is what my doc told me. I give my 9mo old a few sips of water after every meal, he is no longer constipated. Applesauce also helps him. He loves trying to sip out of a cup after watching me. It's helping him learn how to drink from a real cup as well.

Just make sure it's not got soy in it!
Meanwhile definitely try the baby prunes and apple juice - also dilute grape juice and pineapple juice
At any age, not doing a do for 3-4 days is a worry: infrequent bowel function leads to absorption of toxins from the intestines, which has long term health effects. Really you should put e baby-size glycerine suppository in him if he hasn't done a smelly for 2 days.
