Why is there a mismatch between a car's online and local price?
So I am about to go to college soon. I want to buy me a car. I want a cheap, fuel efficient car. I am interested in the Nissan Versa. However, the online MSRP is $11,990. That is the posted price on the Nissan website and the local dealer's website. However, when I arrived on location, I inquired the man about it and he told me the price was $16,300 (or something like that) My question is, why is the online price listed as $11,990 and the price at the location listed as $16,300? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!

MSRP stands for Manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price - it's rarely what they sell for.
Delivery fees, local taxes and additional options can add to a car's price. Plus most places advertise their lowest price vehicle to get people in the door, but once they get to the dealer, the salesmen show them more expensive models that make the dealer and salesperson a higher profit.
It happens to everyone!!!
