why is it beams and granite so expensive?

    any rock is expensive due to transportation cost.

    Besides that, cost is what the market will bear. If there is demand, it will cost more. Granite is expensive in north america, as it is popular, and they can charge a lot for it. Not sure of costs or popularity elsewhere
