Suggestions for Gluten-Free Anniversary Dinner?

It's my fifth anniversary with my partner on Friday, and I want to cook something special. ("Special" is kind of a low bar since my cooking skills are limited.) He can't have gluten, so options are a bit limited. I'm thinking of learning to cook a steak, but that's as far as I've gotten. Any alternatives, suggestions, recipes, etc. would be appreciated. I have that day off from work, so if there's a recipe you know that takes a lot of time/effort, I can do it.

Thank you!

I mean really does it have to be complicated for it to be delicious and easy. I would just buy a couple of nice top choice steaks like a NY Strip even a T-Bone it doesn't matter. You don't have to go crazy with seasoning either. Just salt and pepper and cook on each side for about 4 minutes in light oil. For a side just one baked sweet potato each with Land O Lakes Butter ( Gluten Free) and it's a great meal. Sometimes simple is best.

Steak is always good - something to remember is to let it 'rest' for about 15 minutes after you cook it. The juices are driven away from part of the steak during cooking and if you let the steak rest, it gives the juices time to sort of resettle, so everything is evenly moist.

I always like mashed potatoes with this. You peel a few potatoes, chop them into big chunks (like, one potato chopped into 4-6 pieces) and then cook them in boiling water and salt - there are easy recipes online for how long to cook them for. When that's done, you drain the water out, then add some milk, butter, and salt and mash them until smooth, and it's done.

If you cook some green beans - boiling and draining them - plus a little lemon juice and butter poured over them afterward, that would go well with this. Or a little salad. Even something simple like spinach and chopped strawberries or chopped oranges goes nicely with this. :-)
