Is my Computer under-performing?

I have a Dell studio 15 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium(64-bit), and has 4GB RAM, 1GB Graphic card(ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 series), Intel core i3 processor. I think I have a decent specs to run a good game. But I can't run cryengine 3, Far cry, GTA IV, and such big games. When i run those games, the CPU usage shoots up to 100% and i have to restart my PC again. So do you think my computer is performing normally or should i look into improving it. If i should, please explain how to increase speed.

I do these occasionally to improve speed,

1. Clean up disk and registry with CCleaner often.

2. Defragmentation is done every Wednesday

3. Delete %temp% files.

4. Scan for virus and other unwanted programs every two day.

What else should i do to increase speed? Please reply (And please don't recommend some unwanted softwares to speedup computer)

    Hi Sanju,

My name is Geetika and I work for Social Media and Community Team at Dell. I will help you.

The games which you mentioned are have fairly heavy graphics, the graphics card & processor combination on your system can run these games however if you play them at higher resolution and settings, the system might heat up, lag or hang.

We would recommend you to use lower resolution like (1024 x 768), and low-medium in game settings, also please keep the AA setting to 0X. The games should work fine once you perform these steps.

Please reply on the post if any further assistance is required. I shall be glad to assist you further.

    Thanks & Regards

I think you have to buy a desktop computer and a good graphic card in it because normally some big games like gta 4 or far cry 3 can't support by laptops.

    Shouldn't have to reset it..

All games would at least start but lag like a *****...

You should be able to run far cry 3 on normal but gta 4 doesn't work on some computers at all, just consrant lag
