Wow, well that would have hurt me a lot too. I've been told things like that in the past also. If your guy isn't good with words or in this case, possibly lacks social skills. It is expected he would say something like that. The best thing to do is let him know that his small comment had a big impact on you. That it probably made you feel stupid and that you were only thinking of him. That's honestly the only thing you can do about this.

1. You did it, which means you had the time to do it, which means that his joke about having too much time is valid.

2. Just because you think it's cute, doesn't mean everyone else does. I mean a poem about someone liking a fast food place, doesn't sound cute to me.
