Does he like me or is being friendly?

So about 2 months ago I met a really nice guy at a charity event. I volunteer for a specific organization that helps sick children, and I met him at one of the events. We had great conversation, and I thought he was really funny, sweet and cute. He friended me on facebook a few days later, but never inititated contact so a few days later I started up a conversation and we talked for a while. He seemed nice and friendly. Once in a while he'd like my post on facebook but we didn't talk since then. This past Sunday I met him for the 2nd time at another charity event and we really hit it off, again. We were with a group of people, but I could tell he wanted to talk to me privately. After the event, a couple of us wanted to get some food...somehow we got "separated" from the group, which I'm still trying to figure out if that was on purpose or not. We got some ice cream separately, just the two of us. Whatever I mentioned I wanted to do (go to the park, get some food) he seemed down to do. It really seemed like he was interested in me. Later, when we met up with the group of people at the park, he pulled me away again to talk privately, away from the big group since it was noisy. We spent a good 20-30 min eating lunch and talking privately. If a guy is just being "friendly" he wouldn't make the effort to talk privately with a girl, right? I can't tell if he's interested or just being friendly because he didn't ask for my number and didn't say "when will I see you next?" or anything like that. He did come to say goodbye to me....what's going on? am i overthinking this? maybe he just needs more time...?
