What record player should I get?

I've found my dads old technics stack, roughly 20 years old. It has a amp, speakers, tape player and a radio. However, the record player doesn't work. I have been fiddling with it or the past week or so and beginning to think I should get a new one.

All suggestions are appreciated.

    Fix the one you have. It likely is a belt. You should get a fresh stylus.
