Guinea pig hemotoma? Help?
My guinea pig over the last week has been developing a hemotoma on her leg. I took her to the vets as soon as I noticed where it was diagnosed when blood came out of it. However, it has started to refill again and I'm unsure of whether to take her back to get it drained. I've read about people being advised to let it heal, but I'm wary of this being painful for her. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I don't have experience with this but if you post in the Guinea Lynx medical forum, you should get a few answers from other who have. I did read one thread about a boar who had one on his chest (the result of a fight) that ended up bursting so I would definitely seek out some advice on Guinea Lynx (I don't know if this is standard or what to expect). Posting in the forum is probably the best way for you to reach owners who have experience with this and can give you good advice.

Here is the thread about the guinea pig with a vascular hematoma (I think the lump is diagnosed on page 3): http://www.guinealynx.info/forums/viewtopic.php?t=...
Hope your guinea pig feels better soon.
