Is there a name for this type of belief?

I have checked the definition of pagan and heathen and neither truly fits. It is a belief in the existence of a god, that all religions on earth are actually talking about the same diety but with cultural twists to suit each land it originated in, all the prophets being sent from the same god, at different times, Jesus, Mohammud, Bhudda and many others. Also a belief in the sanctity of the natural cycles of the planet, the four directions, the four ages of a person, the four elements, the four seasons. A belief that a prayer is the same as a spell is the same as a wish. It is a request sent out to the universe. It also acknowledges the science of our evolution and the possibility of life somewhere other than this planet. Does any one sect cover all that?

Yes, the name is "last, desperate attempt to remain relevant in modern society" religion.

My "Christian" parents are attempting this new age nonsense right now. It's so sad.

You are pagan. Pagan is an umbrella term. Not sure exactly what you believe would be called.

  • No idea, but that is a very interesting belief. I've never thought about it that way
