The disk for our Canon MX370 printer/faxer isn't working in my laptop. Can I download the software online?

You can download the driver from Canon's official support site (see below and navigate to the page for your local region, which I believe is Canada/North America).

As you can see, there is more than one version of the driver and other software updates. Disconnect and power down your printer. The best advice is to start with the earliest driver and other software relevant to your model of printer and the relevant operating system for your laptop (try to use the purchase date of the printer and the stated release date of the software and upgrades as a guideline for where to start). Once you have downloaded and installed the drivers and software, restart your computer to fully integrate the new software and then connect, power up and test your printer.

You then have the option of downloading and adding the more recent driver and software updates to bring everything up to date.

So that your current situation does not arise again in future, create a 'Canon MX370 Drivers & Utilities' folder on your desktop, select "Save" rather than "Open" for the downloads and save all the downloads to that new folder on your desktop, should you need them in future. You then have the option to use any burning software you have installed (such as Nero) to copy the new folder onto a CD, thus creating your own driver and utility disc to reduce the need for any further downloading should ever need to repeat this process with the same computer or need to use the printer with any other computer.

Good question and yes you can. Select your operating system and version and read the user manual as well. Most printers you install the software FIRST then connect the printer when the software tells you to.
