Adonis Stevenson vs. Tony Bellew 12 Rounds for the WBC/Lineal Light Heavyweight Championship who wins?

BQ:] Now you know why all of these top Super Middleweight contenders

were unwilling to fight Adonis Stevenson in that IBF Super Middleweight

title eliminator notable names on the list offered the fight include Mikkel

Kessler, Kelly Pavlik, Andre Dirrell, Sakio Bika, Edwin Rodriguez, James

DeGale and Thomas Oosthuizen. The only fighter willing and able to step

up to the plate was Don "The Bomb" George last October and props even

though Chicago club fighter Don George lost the fight and he got knocked

fives times and lost he almost went the distance. "BAD" Chad Dawson he

couldn't even last a round with this guy. Now onto the future Tony "Bomber"

Bellew is the number 1 WBC Light Heavyweight contender he defeated the

other top contender Isaac Chilemba. Tony Bellew is very durable fighter he

has a good chin and lost a very close fight to WBO Light Heavyweight belt

holder Nathan Cleverly. CLEV himself is eyeing Bernard Hopkins later this

year in a WBO/IBF Light Heavyweight unification bout. I'm sure that HBO's

going to elect to take the Stevenson-Bellew fight now that Stevenson is an

overnight boxing superstar they needed some new names now that Golden

Boy Promotions can only be seen on Showtime. We got to get something

straight here Adonis Stevenson is not indestructible, he's not SUPERMAN

he can be beat, if he's matched up against a nice, seasoned well polished

boxing technician like Andre "Son of GOD" Ward, Ward can out box Adonis

and take him apart, ANDRE SOG WARD is dangerous and on another level.

    What's up LW?

Bellew would get crushed, I feel bad this is the fight he gets after working towards a title shot.

Adonis is a beast. I always watched/liked him b/c of his ridiculous power, but I was also always skeptical of him b/c I felt it was all he had, plus he was stopped by Darnell Booone (who is a durable, not very hard hitting journeyman).

I'm not skeptical anymore, and it's not even b/c he knocked out Dawson. It's actually the George fight that made me a believer, even though George is kind of a bum IMO.

Adonis has improved A LOT, and isn't just a 'look for the KO' type of guy. He lets the knockout come, is a GREAT bodypuncher, and as we saw in the George fight, he can go ten rounds or more without losing all of his gas.

Bellew is a tough dude w/ a nice left hook, but he does gas and doesn't fight in a consistent way. Adonis will hurt him to the body and stop him in the mid-to-late rounds, and I'm sure it will be brutal b/c that's all Stevenson knows.

EDIT: I forgot to add that, yes, obviously SOG would own Stevenson. He schools any and all people who weigh 175lb or less.

I'd like to see Adonis fight Pascal in an all Montreal showdown, that sounds like a fun matchup.

  • I'm still not so sure about Stevenson. Sure nobody at the top bit on the title eliminator, but that's understandable considering they're all fighting for fame & fortune and being offered another tourney when the first produced 0 superstars (even though at least 2 of its fighters should be top 10 p4p) after all those battles. Since it's obvious belts & competition alone wont bring fame or fortune, there's absolutely no reason to step into the ring with Stevenson, as it would be a one-sided upside all in his favor.

Now his KO rightfully has created a tad bit of buzz among hardcore fans, but in my opinion that wasn't enough to show the drastic improvement he needed to be considered a player in either division. I know he hits extremely hard, but Dawson wasn't able to provide much of a barometer.

Outcome- From what little I've seen of Tony Bellew, if Stevenson is able to put darn near anything together consistently it will be an easy relatively short night.
