Shipping out to Boston (hockey)?
As of right now Which deadline deal was the worse for Boston
A. The Jagr trade
Boston gave up
Cody Payne
Lane MacDermid
First round pick 2013
In 16 games Jagr currently has 0 goals, 7 assists, and is a +1
B. the kaberle trade
Boston gave up
Joe colbourn
First round pick 2011
Third round pick 2012
In 25 games kaberle scored 0 goals, 11 assists, and was a +8
C. Other
Robin Boston won the Stanley cup in 2011 the pick the leafs got was the 30th overall
Timmy b either a you can't read or b you don't know what the team deadline deal is. Thornton was traded in November kinda of stretching it just a little calling that a deadline deal
Wow where do I start at the time kaberle was considered a puck moving defenceman. The main role of a puck moving defenceman is to provide offence. During the 2011 playoffs kaberle was criticized by both the fans and media for his poor play. The fact that Boston didn't even try to re sign him speaks volume. And jagr is not a +1 I guess both his stats on NHL.com and tsn are wrong? I suggest you learn a little more about hockey or at least look up stats before you go off on your next spasm

The Kaberle trade was worse. I didn't think it was awful, it resulted in a cup. But I just remember being more dissapointed in him than in Jagr now.
Jagr has had a ton of opportunities, and is doing better than I expected (though not better than I hoped) He's buying in and (trying to) play the Bruin's style....even if it took a while.
Kaberle, as much as I wanted him, didn't feel like a Bruin at any time. He wasn't physical at all. I know Jagr isn't either, but he doesn't play D. He made some decent plays, and did contribute...but I just wanted more and figured it was a long term deal. Colbourn was a 1st round pick, and they got another...that is more than you pay for a rental. But I'm SOOOOO happy they didn't resign him.
Jagr on the other hand, one low 1st round pick and a good AHLer and a goon...that's a good price for a top 6 rental player. And if they resigned him (they won't with the cap) I wouldn't hate him on the team.
And Timmy B....How's Krug doing as a Puck mover? Looks like he fits to me
Really Timmy, he hasn't done anything? It would appear that NHL.com and anyone with eyes would disagree with you.

are you the Timmy from Southpark?

I think Kaberle was worse in the sense that he isn't as old and still sucked. Plus, It isn't like Jagr isn't contributing. He is offering advice to the younger players, getting feeds for assists..and all while he's above 40 years old. My dad isn't even 40 and he gets winded by walking to the bathroom and already broke a hip. So, B would be my answer. Speaking of "B", GO BRUINS!
EDIT: Everyone calm down. Haha, all of these players are tremendous, just their impact in Boston hasn't lived up to exactly what we thought they would. I guess it's all matter of opinion at that point. I don't like the Tim Thomas trade but you know what, whatever :) We got Rask.

well the 2013 first round pick would either be 29 or 30 so in the 2nd round they would have pick 1 or 2. i don't think this hurts too much. and him getting only 7 assists in 16 games works pretty good as boston is in the finals.
yes, that's what i'm trying to say. toronto had the 30th pick, boston had the 31st pick. so where's the problem?

C. Other = The Joe Thornton trade was the worse, by far!
Kaberle helped the Bruins win a Cup, and we might say the same about Jagr. Their stats were not great..But I will take whoever wins the Cup.
EDIT - I thought you were clueless with your dumb question...Who was worse for Boston? And you mention one guy who won the Cup with them, and another guy who will probably win another Cup for them....OBVIOUSLY they werent that bad if they ended up winning the Cup! And Kaberle? The guy was a defenseman! Who cares how many goals he gets? Thats not his job! His job as a DEFENSEMAN is to play DEFENSE! Which he did! the + 8 rating sounds good to me! It was either Jagr or Iginla? Who looks better gith now? Mr Iginla who had ZERO points in the 4 game series against Boston? Yeah I will stay with Jagr thank you very much!
Not everything is based on pure stats.....You can have the best defenseman in the world and he could easily end up with zero goals and 2 points in a stanley cup run..That does not tell you how good of a defenseman he was...Stop looking at pure stats and look at the bigger picture. If you think the other teams in this trades made such a great move then please tell me how many Cups they have won since those trades? EXACTLY! = ZERO! So Boston won on both trades when you think about it.
"The pick the Leafs got.." He says...LOL! Since when do the Leafs draft anyone who can produce? LOL!!!!!! We gave them Kessel and in reutrn we got Seguin, Dougie Hamilton, a Stanley Cup in 2011, AND probably another one this year! Thank you Toronto!
A "puck moving defenseman" on a defensive minded team? Never going to work! An offensive defenseman will NEVER work in Boston because they focuse so much on defense, it simply will never work. And Kaberle had 11 points in those playoffs, and a +8 rating..Please tell me how those are "bad" numbers? Boston did not want to resign him because it was painfully obvious that an offensive defenseman will not work in Boston. Long term he would never work out, but when they had him THEY WON THE CUP! And he produced decent numbers...That trade was not a "bust" for them at all.
@Chuck - How is Krug doing? Umm last I checked he has done nothing since the Rangers series...Last I checked the ONLY time Krug ever did anything was vs the Rangers in that ONE series. Are you really that dumb to not know why? The Rangers up front are big and slow, Krug is small and fast. The Rangers focus on defense and do not have many offensive threats, which allowed Krug to take chances. He matched up perfectly against the Rangers, and the results proved that point. Where was Krug vs Penguins? He did nothing! Because the Pens are a much faster team up front, and the Pens have good offense which forces the Bruins D-men to focus of defense, and therefor they can not take chances on offense. Krug was only good vs Rangers, and it was only because of the way they matched up. I have not seen anything out of Krug to make me think he will thrive in Boston against every other team.
