How to beat the heat in Hostel?

Not sure if this would help, but just sharing the idea.

If you've windows, soak jute sacks or thick bed sheets in water and tie it across windows. the wind that blows in through that wet sheets or sack material should be better.

dude iam residing in engineering college hostel, its 42 here with high humidity, the worst problem is i sweat more than average boys so for me its really unberable here, iam unable to concentrate on my studies because of sweating, if i put on shirt it gets all wet within half an hour

If possible keep the lights off or on it minimum and do not use laptop or other electronic items as they emit heat. This will definitely keep your room temperature normal.

from the ancient time when there ware no cooler some of our ancient use this method to cool their body .open your mouth and fold your tongue to both end upside to tough mouth inner part upside, it make like a tube hole then suck air from it , this air is cool and make your body cool ,drink lots of water before doing this.

one other way to keep cooling is bring spray bottel and fill it with water and spray time to time.
