Is it safe walking back from disneyland at night?
Me and my family are going to disneyland this july and we plan to stay in the park until the park closes and our hotel is just at the north of disneyland at disneyland drive and its totally walking distance to the tram from the parking lit. I was wondering if it is safe to go back the hotel at night at around midnight when the park is closed or is it better to just use a car and pay the parking.

It would actually help if you gave us the exact hotel name and which Tram/Parking Lot you are asking about. But if I am to guess you are talking about going from the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure to perhaps the Travelodge or Super 8 as both of those are on Disneyland drive and neither have a shuttle provided by the Hotel.
So the short answer is that yes it is reasonably safe. Depending on how much after midnight you are actually returning there will be plenty of people taking this same walk. That is at midnight or 1 am you are fine..at 2 or 3..may be a bit dodgy. But you would actually save time by not taking the tram back to the Parking Structure. You will want to take the path from Downtown Disney to Disneyland Drive(just under 1/2 a mile), and then walk down Disneyland Drive to your Hotel. If you take the Tram you not only have to wait for the tram, which on a busy night when we have had to park in the Structure we have beat the tram back by walking. But where the tram let's you off you will find that you have to do quite a bit of backtracking to get back to Disneyland Drive.
Also, now that if these are your motels, you will have a slight incline along Disneyland Drive going up in the morning, but going back it would be downhill.
If you decide to park, I would suggest parking in the Toy Story lot off of Harbor instead of Mickey & Friends. Another alternative is to see if your Hotel/Motel is serviced by an ART(Anaheim Resort Transit) route. If so a 1 Day pass for 10+ is $5, for Kids(3-9) is $2, and under 3 is free. If you purchase multiple days you can receive a discount.

As someone who goes 40 times per year, I can honestly say it's about as safe as you can get in terms of lack of crime. There are LOTS of people along that route, well past midnight. So yes, it's safe to walk. It seems rather ridiculous to use a car and pay $16, when the hotel is just a few feet away from the parking lot. If you're really nervous, you can take an ARTS (Anaheim Resort Transit System) bus from the shuttle area to your hotel. It will cost you a couple bucks each.
The biggest safety concern is crossing Disneyland Drive (or Ball Road). Be safe. I've seen a lot of tired drivers on that intersection make dangerous moves. Don't assume drivers will stop for you, even if you have the green light. Once you cross the street, you're save.

Its safe & kind of fun. I walk back everytime even if its a 20 minute walk like last time. Its disneyland & many peoples goal is to stay until closing time so you will have many many people walking around everywhere. sometimes you might see someone with balloons just handing out what wasnt sold that day, i got a free flower one time. You have nothing to worry about. :)

I would have to say yes. You're going to be exhausted, though. If your hotel offers a shuttle then, I'd take the shuttle for sure. If not, I would probably walk without much worry.
