What do you do in collage if you pick product design?

Im thinking of doing product design but im not sure what kind of work it involves in college and I would like to now if its a good career choice

    deciding on suitable materials

    using computer design software to produce detailed final drawings

    making samples or working models

    testing the design

    finding solutions for any problems with the design.
