If the church is so willing to support the poor & hungry...?

...then why doesn't the Vatican liquidate its assets, surrender its trappings of luxury, and use that money to solve world poverty & world hunger once & for all, instead of just asking people to pray for the deliverance of those less fortunate, all from the comfort of their marble, gilded silken palace, festooned with priceless riches, in the middle of Rome

Update:

@Mark - Have I hit a nerve? Calm down dear, it's only a question. No need to get tetchy. xx - I think you know the answer anyway, but never mind, there are other people willing to provide a more concise answer.

He meant so you might do it on your individual and out of your individual components. Getting paid to help the poor helps you extra advantageous than them. it is not giving. in case you artwork for an enterprise such by fact the dep.. of well-being and Human centers, you're gifting away taxpayers funds. they have no say so interior the giving and as a result the money is stolen from them. At no time did Jesus EVER say thieve from people who've and supply to those that have not got. My advice is which you get a activity and discover a relatives you are able to help out of your individual pocket. THAT glorifies God and not you.

    Marble-gilded?

Do you have any freaking idea how gonad-bustingly heavy something gilded with marble would be? Festooning the silkens of the palace would be far wiser.

It took a whole trailer-park full of derelicts lending their seed to create you, didn't it. How will you ever say thank you on fathers day?

The Catholic Church is not just a church, it is also a political entity and needs assets on which to base its currency.

The political aspects are not part of the church founded by Jesus and hopefully some day Catholics will separate themselves from it, so that they can be truer followers of Jesus.

because the roman catholic church which is ruled from the vatican is not part of the real church which follows and obeys Jesus. that bunch is part of the false church led by the false prophet who will get people to worship the anti christ.

that is NOT to say that all catholics are like that...but we are talking about the organization known as the roman catholic church seated in the vatican and led by the pope.

You know what? You started by supposing something that is not true. The church is not willing to support the poor and hungry etc..

And now if you think that you're smart, you're just a copying asshole. It's been about 2000 years that this idea appeared, in ancient Egypt, my boy!

Btw no one managed to do the things you mentioned, so why dont you get started instead of typing dumb questions on your keyboard??

good question. i'm not a fan of the catholic church, but they do in fact sponsor TONS of charities. still, i'm sure these charitable expenditures barely touch their vast holdings, and i'm sure, as you said, they could solve world hunger if they wanted to. clearly, they don't want to.
