Yes.
TVs don't work by magic yet.

Well, that depends on what type of TV you buy, doesn't it?
If you buy one with a built-in Freeview tuner, you won't need an external Freeview box. If you buy one without a built-in Freeview tuner, you will need an external Freeview box.

If you mean you have no aerial wall socket to connect to a roof-mounted aerial, then you will struggle to get a signal. All indoor aerials have appalling reception for Freeview, unless you live very close to a transmitter.

It will need an aerial but if it's a cheap TV don't expect it to be fault free or last very long.

Depends where you live - if you live very near the transmitter you can probably get away with an indoor aerial, further away you will need an outside aerial on the roof or outside wall.
