Web hosting services and providers?
Hi,
I need to know about web hosting services and providers.
I am planning to start my own website and want to know the cheapest web hoster out there.
i recently came across a web hosting server called www.indiagetonline.in where they provide a free available .in domain name along with 1 year of web hosting services for free.
So please suggest if this one is good to go, as i am beginner or should i look for other options like bluehost etc.

It's better to get hosting from a well known established company.
Even they have sometimes great deals so you can get hosting from them for cheap.
I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostingdiscounts.org/
iPage is on sale right now.
They're one of the oldest web hosting companies, founded 1998, also one of the largest, currently hosting over a million websites.
Their hosting plan includes:
- Free domain name (.com, .net, .org)
- Unlimited storage and bandwidth
- Unlimited email addresses per domain name
They also include a couple of ways for you to build your website easily without any programming.
You can use their free, point & click, online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop).
You could install Wordpress. It is the most popular CMS (content management system) (they include an easy, one click install of Wordpress from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.
They also have a great custom control panel with OneClick installs of all the popular software like Wordpress, Joomla, Forums, Chat, Galleries, Online stores and a lot more.

Can't beat FREE web hosting! Everything you need! I've used them 10 years now! See my website www.savdesigns.com been here free all along! I pay 10 bucks a year to qth.com for the domain name though. But they host my domain name COMPLETELY FREE! NO ADS!
They provide hosting absolutely free, there is no catch. You get 1500 MB of disk space and 100 GB bandwidth. They also have cPanel control panel which is amazing and easy to use website builder. Moreover, there is no any kind of advertising on your pages.

Hello,
You find a lot of crappy web hosting companies out there and it's not easy to find a good one that suits your needs.
I can recommend the following website to compare several hosting companies and providers: http://phpvp.info/providers
Use the search box in case the info you need is not displayed right away.
Take care and good luck with your research!

I have thought marketing and communications at the University of Arizona for the past 27 years and came across many of the so called "free" websites. Unless you plan on using them to share content with a few friends or for a personal blog, I would recommend to stay away from them. Their DNS/Connect (the time taken for the server to respond) is simply AWFUL. And this means you will lose customers. It is estimated that 50% of visitors will close down their browsers without even giving time for a site to load if the DNS/Connect exceeds 5s. Paid shared hosting works better. Of course not as good as Dedicated but to start off it's the best solution. Also stay away from sellers that offer excellent DNS/Connect speed but horrible bandwidth. Their offers usually can't meet the needs of the most basic html website with a very limited audience. They make it difficult to transfer your site to a new server and you get forced to keep "upgrading" your plan until you end up paying for shared hosting close to what you would pay for dedicated.
The top host I would recommend for ease of use, customer service and manageability is this:
Also, as an alternative: http://tinyurl.com/host22013. And if you need ASP (you will if you build your sites using programs such as DotNetNuke) nothing beats http://tinyurl.com/host32013.
For fairness sake I must state that they pay me a fee for reviewing and recommending their services for my courses and anywhere else but I myself have over 40 websites hosted with them with 30 of them upgraded to "pro" (an intermediate service between the basic shared service and the dedicated one) and 3 sites upgraded to dedicated hosting. I also recommended the host to a friend who has an exceptionally large and successful website that generates a 6-figure monthly income and the service is being handled pretty well (not flawlessly since they had some server issues in January but still the best, at least in my seasoned experience).

I think you should also take into consideration what type of website you will want to have hosted. For me something free and simple like http://www.bawdenindustries.com/ worked well for my online resume'. That doesn't mean the it will work for my business, especially when you have to think of how your online business will need to expand in the future. There is a lot of hosting options out there, and it can be hard, just make your you know what your requirements will be and start from there.

I have designed websites for some time now and I have some hosting companies below that I find very reliable. What you need (hosting plan) from a hosting company depends on the type of business you are starting. Hosting companies charge from $1 per month to $50 per month depending on your needs. They also give discounts for paying for 2 or more years upfront. For a simple website my average customer pays between $3 and $4 per month for hosting with basic, non-database, non-ecommerse sites.
I am not sure about the free web hosting that you refer to. You may want to search reviews for them. I have never heard of free hosting for 1 year. Not saying it's not out there. Again, below are some hosting company that I frequent.

When it comes to web hosting cheapest is definitely not always best. You want to make sure you check reviews, recent provider outages (uptime/downtime), and choose a provider who offers a Service Level Agreement (SLA) contact me if you have more questions

If you are serious about your website (your business), don't choose free web hosting and domain. You can register domain names at NameCheap.com or Name.com or Godaddy.com and you can choose your web hosting from companies like Hostgator, BlueHost, WebHostingHub etc.

There are many different hosts to chose from but always choose a reputable one. I myself use hostgator to host all my sites. There a big company with great prices and good support. You know their not going to close up shop and take all your hard earned work with them.
