how effective is the pill and how does it work?
i take the combined pill and everyone keeps saying that its 99% effective, i use condoms as well but my boyfriend of 2 years wants to try without the condom, i'm worries because my thinking is that if the sperm goes in then there is a possibility of being pregnantand i really dont understand how the pill would prevent this. also with condoms why are they only 98% effective is it because they can break?

I'm on the combined pill too, and have been from the ages of 19 onwards (now almost 21). It is over 99% effective if taken every day. It stops you from ovulating, makes the lining of the cervix THICKER to make it harder for sperm, and makes the lining of the uterus/womb THINNER to make it harder for an egg to implant.
