Same question day after day after day... Define " I don't want to spend a lot." Or "too much." Or "inexpensive". I'm not privy to your bank account or credit card info. What's "a lot"? $300, $500, $700, $1,000 - $5,000?
I'm going to list the four least expensive, yet decent road bikes I'm aware of. G.T.A.B.S. Go To A Bicycle Shop & test ride them.

Do what I did, I looked on Craigslist and found one.
Thrift stores and garage sales are good ideas as well.
I just bought a blue azuki (which if I remember correctly was made in the 70's haha) and I got it for $10.
I just started cycling and I feel like my bike is a good start, a diamond in the rough that I can spend some spare time learning to fix and improve.

You can try to go onto Craigslist and find a Entry-Level Road Bike, but NEVER go to any Walmart or Department Store's and buy a Bike there.
