This question is for woman, what is the best way to approach a woman in a bar or club?

I have just got out of a long term relationship. I been goin out to different bars and clubs to meet woman. I feel so rusty when it comes to speaking to them, bad enough I was never smooth to begin with. I mostly say hi how are you my. I ask them there name and give them mines. I try to make the conversation about them. Yet I strike out every time. I am a decent looking guy, I am only 28 to I am not old, I am a vegetarian so I smell good and I am not fat. What am I doing wrong, any tips and advise would be a great help. And I pefer to here from woman on how they like to be picked up

Start off by getting her to notice you, maybe try to make a lot of eye contact from across the bar. We like guys to notice us, it gets our adrenaline going lol. Once you've established that, make your way over to where she is, and ask her what shes drinking, then order her a drink. A great way to break the ice is buying her a drink, then from there just be charming. A girl will always respond in a positive way to a funny guy There's no need for corny pick up lines as long as your sweet.  Ask her where shes from, stuff like that.
