what are the food goups?

i mean like pasta and bread are the protein or are they carbohydrates the food groups i know are

dairy

fruit and vegetables

and that is it

so basically whats a carbohydrate and what is protein

    The four food groups are:

    1. Chocolate

    2. Donuts

    3. Peanut Butter

    4. Ice cream

    Protein is mostly the stuff that comes from animals - meat, eggs, fish although some carbohydrate foods also contain protein.

    Carbohydrates are things like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, oats, wheat, sugar

    Dairy is stuff from cows - milk, cheese, cream, yoghurt, butter (they also contain protein)

    And then there are all the fruits and veggies.

    What foods have carbs depends on the type of carbohydrates you are talking about. There are two types of carbohydrate - simple and complex. Carbs are our body's energy food allowing our brain, muscles and central nervous system to function efficiently. The two types of carbohydrate are found in different foods and give our bodies a different kind of energy.

    Simple carbohydrates tend to be found in sugary foods, the body burns these quickly and they give the body a quick but short energy boost. You've probably experienced a feeling of weakness and lack of energy only to eat a sugary food and get an energy boost. This is because your blood sugar levels were low so your body had nothing to burn for fuel so you had no energy.

    The sugary food gave you a quick burst of simple carbs which instantly gave your body the energy it needed. These are not the best carbs for your body and if eaten to excess on a regular basis can give you a high blood sugar level and potentially lead to diabetes

    Proteins are large, complex molecules that play many critical roles in the body. They do most of the work in cells and are required for the structure, function, and regulation of the body’s tissues and organs. Proteins are made up of hundreds or thousands of smaller units called amino acids. Found in red meats
