Does this scenario sound creepy to you?

Hi! So I'm a 17 year old girl, and I work at a fast food restauarant. One of my coworkers who is around 25 is a fry cook and he only speaks Spanish, and I'm almost fluent myself, so we talk a lot. In fact the whole staff is hispanic, I'm the only white person, but for the sake of not making me feel uncomfortable we all speak spanish to each other. Anyway, my manager told me that he (the fry cook) wanted to take me on a date to the movies, and he was trying to get me to answer. The whole staff knows about this (I overheard a conversation), and they don't think it's weird at all. He hasn't asked me out himself though, and I think maybe he was trying to get my manager to do it for him? I was just wondering if this was creepy, because the whole staff doesn't think so, and if I should go on this one date with him?

It's pretty creepy, I wouldn't go. When you're 25, you're going to be blown away at what kind of guys are ok with dating girls that age.

It is a little creepy, but a social norm for people of Hispanic descent. Personally, I would tell him thanks, but you don't want to date anyone you work with and leave it at that.

Um it's kind of creepy considering your ages, but if you like him, maybe you should go for it? Only if he asks you himself, though.
