Menstrual cramps during pregnancy?

I'm almost sixteen weeks pregnant and every time I would be on my period I get the same type of cramps I would get on my period. These have been really consistent for the past four months. Is it normal to have menstrual cramps while pregnant?

I couldn't say for sure why your cramps are exactly when you would be having your period, but it fairly common to have cramps during pregnancy. Your uterus is growing considerably and it is not comfortable to grow a uterus. In addition, contractions feel fairly similar to period cramps, though the pain may be more severe or more cyclical. If you have been having any bleeding or spotting that I would definitely recommend calling your doctor/midwife ASAP as cramping can also be an indicator of a problem.

Here are the best things to do to relieve yourself from normal, pregnancy cramp/contractions:

Make sure you are well hydrated

    Empty your bladder

Take a rest/Don't overdo anything physically
