Should I go to the housing commission to look for a temporary place to live?
I just moved to Central Michigan and I have a great deal of money saved up (actually 5 years rent) but I do not have a current job so all landlords turn me down because they want someone who has a current source of income. Last week I been staying at a hotel but the money goes fast doing that. Should I speak with the housing commission to ask if they can set up some type of temporary home for me so I can look for a job?

You need to move fast on this issue otherwise you will be broke. Here is the link for Michigan housing Commission, check it out.

See if you area has rooms for rent or sharing rooms.
If worse comes to worse, Contact the Salvation Army in your area. In summer there always is room available. The Salvation Army gets you back on your feet, help with job finding, make CV. They do all sort of thins for people in need.
