Coal fired Electric power, why has it become a outcast in USA only?

One plant provides millions of homes with clean power. If you look at the earth with all the fires and volcanic putting stuff in the air. To single out coal is wrong.

    Other countries aren't as concerned with their environment as the US is.

    Most electricity in the US is still produced from coal, because it's cheaper than other fuels, and we haven't built a new nuclear plant in decades.

    Where I live roughly 70% of our electricity comes from coal.
