Why would anyone buy the Xbox One?
I understand there are fanboys and idiots who will buy it, but other than those two markets why would anyone buy it over the PS4 (if they are deciding to buy a next gen console)? Are there any advantages, if any, the xbone bosts over the PS4? I mean everything about the Xbone seems to fall short of PS4, some features significantly more than others. Xbone more expensive, weaker operating system, must be on every 24 hours just in order to play a game offline, and cannot even lend games out (i do believe you can do this just one time) just to name a few. If you are going to buy the Xbox One can you give me a legit reason why you are.

Well ....sir I can see you are a Sony fan cough fag cough cough but there are advantages and disadvantages to buying the new system. They are making the friends lists on the new Xbox infinite as well as adding in the option to have a ten person family system where you will be able to share downloaded full versions of games that you bought with any of the ten people you have on that lists. As well as making the console more like a cable box and less like a gaming system it will be able to be on 24 hours a day 7 days a week without overheating or rebooting. As well as the 8 gb ram it will have a 500 gb hardrive as well as a upgraded built in wifi and kinect sensor. You will be able to stream your tv through it from various cable providers as well . The downside for some is that to play a game you will have to download it but the online market place is said to decrease the price of the games they have for the Xbox one as well . To control the Xbox you can use your smart glass on your iPhone or you basic 360 controller. It will also have the built in blue ray. As well as being able to Skype on it and watch tv at the same time with the split screen you will be able to do the same when you are gaming. New video recording software will be put in it so you can record any video game playing you do without buying any additional add ons or software.also the new kinect will be able to read your heartbeat while you exercise did I mention that? Also there is no more red ring of death. They are also updating how many people can be on on multiplayer games such as battlefield going from being able to support 24 players in a room to 64 players in a room. I am also not a fan of the in game only chat on the play station on the Xbox I can talk to my friend when ever I want either if it is watching Netflix and talking to my friend playing minecraft or playing playing gears of war and talking to my friend playing halo. Maybe I want to talk to a family member and watch a movie with them on Netflix or Hulu you never know . Or maybe I like good racing games like forza or the classic arcade games like perfect dark.the cost 400-500$ the same as what play station is expecting

Your quick judgment over people who want the xbox one just shows how short-sighted you are.
Calling them idiots for getting it also shows your ignorance. Did you ever consider the fact there are people that want media capabilities? Not to mention there are other features they are adding that some people may like.
Just because it has some better hardware doesn't mean a thing unless it makes a significant difference in gameplay and I bet people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a game played on both consoles if put to a test.
I (my thoughts) don't think Microsoft is really that stupid and didn't expect this type of reaction. I believe they are thinking long-term. The publishers are the ones that lose out in money when used games are bought and I'm sure they "love" what Xbox is doing. That being said they likely have a lot of behind the scene deals with Xbox on exclusives and are counting on "gamers" to choose to play the games on "release" rather than waiting for it to be released on PS, assuming it's a timed exclusive and not fully exclusive to Xbox. Take Final Fantasy XV for example. That's been around since the NINTENDO and has been exclusive to PS for awhile now. Not anymore. It's going to be released on "both" consoles now.
In all honestly nothing that microsoft has done affects me personally. I always have the internet on. I always buy my games new. Will I be getting a PS4 on launch....no. Will I be getting an Xbox One on launch....no. Why? Because I know how to build my own PC and can easily make it cast its shadow over both consoles.
I'm sure Microsoft has reasons for going its route long-term. But, I'm sure they will still feel the sting from their choices. Once people are "given" something they feel they are entitled to it, hence the large amount of complaining when it's taken away. Which is why I will wait for Xbox to make its offers after launch to try and draw in more people. Common marketing practice. Wait for the rush to buy the product, then offers special deals afterwards to continue the revenue coming in.

I already ordered it!
Reason why:
Many exclusive titles! (which I do like).
About the specs; yes the ps4 has slightly better specs, but not that much tbh.
About the online once every 24 hours: I couldn't care less, I'm always online anyway.
and not being able to lend games; ye that kinda sucks, but I never did that in the first place, or even sell them, I like to replay games once in a while.
and it's more expensive yes, but that's because kinect is standard with every order.
Why not PS4?
Personal reasons; Sony and I don't get along very well hahah

Not sure. Like you said, the only reason anyone would pick up the Xbox One are the die hard fanboys who only want to play Halo and such. The only thing that's kind of neat about the Xbox One is the cloud powered gaming, but other then that, it's not anything special. I've already made my decision that I was going to be purchasing the PS4 over the Xbox One anyways. There's only one game on the Xbox One that I do want to play, and that's Dead Rising 3. It pisses me off that Microsoft had to fork that much money over to Capcom just to have that game exclusive to their console.

I like the Halo series, I like to use voice command with the kinect and so far I'm liking the exclusives such as Ryse, Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct. I am not a fanboy, I own a PS3 and Xbox 360, so calling me an idiot for having a personal preference is idiotic.
I also have a stable internet connection, I don't lend or sell my games and I can afford to buy it.

@Matt: It's not infinite. They just upped it from 100 to 1,000. Also, alot of what you mentioned are features on the PS4 too. I don't believe they went into details of how the PS4 will stream its gameplay, but a good portion of what the Xbox One can do, the PS4 can do too. Forcing people to buy Kinect 2 (i bet they'll reach Kinect 4 someday) isn't exactly good, at least IMO. It's expensive, most people won't use it for games (probably only use it just for voice control and probably not many will even use that feature at all. Polls revealed, although i forget where i read this from, that all in one touch screen desktops were used like regular computers and their touch screens went largely unused by buyers), the camera is always on, and the microphone is always on. There are ALOT of cons to the console. Of course there are some pros to it too, but the number of cons outweigh the pros, and if you decide to buy it, then so be it, but you will have to accept the fact that both Nintendo and Sony take gaming as a priority this generation. Microsoft isn't. They're making some decent moves, but they're also making a bunch of bad ones too. If Kinect 2 wasn't required, there would be ALOT less issues with the console, not to mention the console would cost less. Also, claiming that there are no hardware issues with the console before it's even released is an empty claim. You don't know, and i don't know. Only speculation remains. You can't claim something to be true since there is always that unexpected variable. Who knows, maybe Xbox One could be hardware issue free, or it could have issues like the 360's RRoD or have problems like the iPhone 5 at its launch.
Personally, i hate the look of it. I like my mini cable box already, so i don't need a giant sized console-cable box hybrid in my house. The DRM on it does suck, but the only upside i see to it is that it acts more like a PC. You install a game to the console when you buy it, and that's it. That's the one feature i find actually decent about the console. Microsoft's take on reselling games is bland. Digital downloads aren't a big thing on consoles as compared to PC (Steam, for example). It works for Steam because digital downloads largely dominate game sales. Console game sales still hold a large share in retail. It's a business, and many analysts have thought that Digital Downloads were the future and thought it would dent retail, but others thought that even with Digital Downloads there will still be retail sales. Not everyone has a great internet connection, so buying a retail vs a digital copy is sometimes better. If Microsoft can successfully make the console seem appealing, making their Steam like attempt work, and among other things, then the console can prove to be good. It has some interesting titles coming out for it, but i'd rather not buy into it. I already have a Wii U, and the PS4 seems like the better option if i decide that gaming is still worth my time in the future.
To answer your question, at the moment; with no backwards compatibility, with Kinect 2 making the price stupidly expensive, the look of the console is too large, and giving up the ability to buy cheap used games, i'd rather not buy the console. Backwards compatibility would have probably made a more convincing argument for me, and i might have bought it if it replaced Kinect 2 in package. I buy my games new, but there are some games that i can't find in store after a while as brand new, and only find them used. The DRM for used games apply to passes at *select retailers* does not make that thrilling. It defeats the purpose of being able to go to comic con and pick up a cheap game for the console from 3 years ago in the future. On top of paying for the game for cheap, i pay another fee that would probably make it more worth it to have bought the game brand new or just as a digital download rather than as a used copy. DRM and tying a game to a person's account has been done before, but the thing is they are taking it too far. Instead of applying it to just digital downloads, it's applied to retail downloads and that can cause issues with reselling games.
I'm considering buying the 360 over it just to play 360 titles since that was the only platform i didn't own last generation.

Edit:
@Matt: The PS4 cost $100 less than the Xbox One. The price has already been revealed for both consoles, so now all 3 home consoles have a price listed. Wii U at $300-$350; PS4 at $400 and Xbox One at $500 USD. Players outside of North America will be paying up to $150 USD more, for the Xbox One, than North American players.
@lilmark_utsa: Good post.

Microsoft is probably hoping that uninformed people will buy the console in large numbers and then just accept the terms when they try to play the system and find out.

To use as a door stop? They only reason 360 did so well was because it was cheap. By the time all the idiots realized that ps3 was far superior they switched . O yea halo sux lol

because the xbox one has many new features and many new upcoming games that are exclusively coming out for only the xbox one.....btw im waiting for the ps4
