"Home" version of pet dental rinses?

Was at a pet store today and saw the Arm & Hammer stuff, but at a capful per 8 ounces of fountain water, and $6.99 a bottle, I think a moderately priced champagne would be cheaper than using this for our five idiots (cats). Is there a "home brew" recipe out there that can accomplish a similar thing?

Update:

That first answer addressed absolutely nothing in my question. And for the record, the cats get $80 per bag Hills Prescription TD. Unfortunately the cats have a tendency to swallow whole, thereby mitigating the benefits of a Tartar control diet. So thanks for making a completely incorrect assumption.

Pets don't need 'dental rinses'. If your cats have bad breath, you should feed them better. Make sure they have access to cat grass and are eating good quality food

I think if you drink a lot of it, it could kill you. But if its a little bit, though im not to sure how true this is, you may just get a little drunk. Ive heard druggies at school talking about it, but I wouldn't bet any money on how true that is.
